President’s Message

Reginald Tumusiime - Chairman

Dear Members of the Blockchain Community,

It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I assume the role of Chairman of the Blockchain Association of Uganda. At our handover event in May 2024, I shared my vision for our association, which is to is to establish Uganda as the premier hub for blockchain and emerging technologies in Africa, fostering a dynamic ecosystem that champions innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship and I am excited to continue building on the strong foundation laid by my predecessors.

Our key mandates include fostering a thriving regulatory environment, increasing collaboration and enthusiasm among entrepreneurs, and eventually expanding our support to other emerging technologies. We are also committed to demystifying this technology and providing real use cases in blockchain with tangible enterprise value, particularly for addressing African challenges.

Through our key initiatives, such as the rebranded Kampala Blockchain Summit and the Blockchain Innovation Program, we aim to drive economic growth, enhance transparency, and build trust in digital transactions. This year’s summit will be held at Endiro Coffee in Nakasero, the largest coffee shop in the country, highlighting the applicability of blockchain in traceability for one of our leading exports. We are committed to creating opportunities for innovation and collaboration, ensuring that Uganda remains at the forefront of technological advancements.

As we move forward, I encourage each of you to actively participate in our initiatives and collaborate with us to achieve our shared goals. Together, we can create a thriving regulatory environment and ensure that Uganda remains a leader in blockchain and emerging technologies.
